What was your favorite part of YA?
By participating in the Health Youth Apprenticeship program I am further prepared for my future. I like the amount of experience I have gained through the program. I was able to obtain a position at Elizabeth Residence Assisted Living Facility. I have taken numerous classes through work and have been able to gain my medication administration license. I have worked there for almost two years now and the experience and passion I have gained for nursing is all thanks to this program.
What are your plans for next year?
My plans for next year include attending Marquette University as a part of the Nursing Program. I was one of the few chosen to be part of this program and plan to pursue a career as a Registered Nurse then go on to be a Nurse Practitioner.
How has YA prepared you to be ready for a college or a career?
This program has prepared me to manage my time with school and work. It has prepared me for all the challenges that nursing includes. I feel I am very prepared for my future career with all the knowledge I have already obtained and the enthusiasm I have for future experiences.
