'Parents Who Host' Seminar Earns Prom Discount
Students from Case, Horlick and St. Catherine's can get up to $4 off their tickets when parents learn about the dangers of hosting teen parties with alcohol.
Parents who host parties for their teenagers and serve alcohol are breaking the law, but they're also putting the kids and themselves in danger.
The Racine Youth Coalition (RYC) is hosting two seminars, "Parents Who Host, Lose the Most," to detail the consequences of allowing kids to drink during prom and graduation parties.
Community leaders will be present to talk about the social and health damages when teens and alcohol mix, and a panel discussion will include the legal ramifications for parents of hosting teen parties with alcohol.

"The law is simple if you purchase, pour or provide alcohol for underage drinkers you can be held liable for the resulting damages that youth incurs under state law," RYC said in a press release about the seminars. "Homeowners’ insurance policies don’t extend liability coverage for illegal activities. Don’t put your financial future at risk."
Students who attend either Case, Horlick or St. Catherine's high schools can get a $4 discount off their prom tickets if their parents attend one of the two sessions:
