• Microsoft and xAI face lawsuits over data center noise as residents challenge turbines, low-frequency hum and millions in damages (techradar.com) — Residents near Microsoft's Fairwater data center in Mount Pleasant have filed a proposed class-action lawsuit, claiming low-frequency noise from cooling equipment is disturbing homes and hurting property values. They argue standard noise monitoring misses the hum and say Microsoft should add soundproofing and quieter systems. Similar nuisance lawsuits against other data centers are emerging nationwide, potentially shaping how these facilities are regulated.
