Racine Unified Filling Seven Principal Vacancies

Candidates are expected to start by the end of July.

The Racine Unified School District is filling directing principal vacancies at five elementary and two middle schools due to retirements, a resignation and reassignments.

In addition, the district is filling vacancies for four middle school assistant principals. RUSD announced 15 directing principal assignments in April.

The vacancies to be filled are:

  • Roosevelt Elementary, to replace Jeffrey Rasmussen who retired.
  • Julian Thomas Elementary, to replace Staci Kimmon who resigned.
  • Mitchell Elementary, to replace Kevin McCormick, who was named Supervisor of Student Achievement and School Improvement – Elementary.
  • Giese Elementary, to replace Anne Swanson who retired.
  • Schulte Elementary, to replace Shelley Kritek, who is being reassigned within RUSD.
  • Jerstad-Agerholm Middle School, to replace Cheri Kulland, who was named Supervisor of Student Achievement and School Improvement – Secondary.
  • Starbuck Middle, to replace Sandra Brand who retired.

 Steve Hejnal, Racine Unified executive director of human resources and labor relations, said that interviews will begin soon and the vacancies are expected to be filled by mid- to late July.
