Racine Unified Residents Get a Say in Superintendent Qualification
Listening sessions will allow the community to talk about the qualities they'd like to see in the next superintendent.

Parents, students, teachers and any interested community members will have an opportunity to weigh in on the search for a new superintendent.
Unified will hold two Listening and Linking Sessions from 3 to 4:30 pm on Mon., Nov. 14, in Mygatts Room, Building 1, at the RUSD Administrative Service Center, 3109 Mt. Pleasant St. The second session is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 pm on Thurs., Nov. 17, in the auditorium of Washington Park High School, 1901 12th Street.
The purpose of the sessions is to gather input on what qualities the community deems most important for the district’s new leader.

“This is our chance to listen to the public as far as what they would like to see in the next superintendent’s qualities,” said board Vice President Sue Kutz, who also chairs the Superintendent Search Committee.
Board member Dennis Wiser, for example, said he has already heard input from community members.

“The two burning questions I hear from people in the community are whether this person will be from Wisconsin and whether they will have a business education,” Wiser said.
