Silly Cop, and Former MLB Pitcher Fakes Out Student Football Crowd
Watch as Jack Taschner, a former MLB pitcher and current Appleton police officer, performs the ultimate fake-out on students.

APPLETON, WI — Jack Taschner, a 1996 graduate of Racine Horlick High School, has worn many hats in his professional life.
He's currently a police officer with the Appleton Police Department. Before that, he was a major league relief pitcher with the San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Last week during the Appleton East High School football game against Appleton North, Taschner, who was working the game as a security officer, when he surprised the student body in the stands.

As the assembled Appleton East students in the stands began a group cheer that they had done so many times before, Taschner, in full uniform, stalked up the bleachers and stood before them.

According to media reports, the crowd of rambunctious students thought they might be in trouble. Taschner then broke out his surprise - turning around to lead the cheer himself.
“This was an opportunity to build a bridge with the student body, and enjoy the spirit they bring each day to Appleton East,” Taschner told ABC News.
