United Way of Racine County surprised a donor Monday with a $9,500 check as part of United Way's 95th-anniversary celebration.

RACINE, WI – United Way of Racine County surprised a donor Monday with a $9,500 check as part of United Way’s 95th anniversary celebration, which wrapped up in January with the announcement of their annual fundraising campaign total.
A group of United Way staff members and a representative from Andis Company delivered the prize to Gabriel Martin, an employee at Great Northern Corporation in Racine. Martin was surprised with an oversized check and balloons during a short staff meeting Monday afternoon in front of his co-workers.
“The sweepstakes is just another example of how we’re trying to engage donors in new ways. We’re thankful that a great supporter like the Andis Foundation helped to make it possible,” said Rodney Prunty, United Way of Racine County president in a prepared statement. “We’re also happy that the winner just happened to work for another great supporter of ours.”
