Crime Corner: Reports Include a Bad Week for Cats, Unusual Animal Story
Muskego police receive several calls regarding dead or injured cats, and a family of raccoons overstays its welcome.

Incidents reported in the last two weeks from the Muskego Police Department indicate that the heat must be getting to people, and perhaps a few animals. It was also not a good time to be a cat in Muskego:
Monday, June 20 – A 26 year old Muskego man was cited after trying to dispose of a mattress and box spring in the dumpster at the Durham Dr. Boat Launch.

- A 25 year old Oak Creek man was arrested for drunk driving after a one car roll-over accident near Racine Ave. and Hillendale Dr.
- A homeowner in the W17900 block of Woods Rd. reported she believed her cat had been shot between June 7 and June 8, while the animal was loose outside. The injuries resulted in the animal’s leg being amputated. There are no suspects.
Friday, June 24 – A Good Samaritan got more than she bargained for when she stopped to help a family of raccoons near Racine Ave. and Parker Dr. and the animals crawled in her car. Officers were able to remove the animals and set them loose without injury.

Saturday, June 25 –
- A resident in the W21100 block of Henneberry Dr. reported finding his cat dead in his back yard with a puncture wound. It is unclear how the animal died at this time.
- A mailbox in the S9500 block of North Cape drive was struck by a hit & run vehicle.
- The patio door of a residence in the S6500 block of Longfellow Ln. was damaged, possibly by a BB.
Monday, June 27 –
- A homeowner in the S7400 block of Racine Ave. reported that his cat may have been shot.
- A 16 year old Muskego boy was cited with Hit & Run after striking a vehicle in the parking lot of US Bank and fleeing the area.
Thursday, June 30 – A 26 year old Waterford man was charged with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia after being suspected of overdosing on heroin and prescription medication in the S8600 block of Denice Ct.
Friday, July 1 – A McDonald’s employee reported a subject in the drive thru drinking a beer, with children in the car. A 31 year old Milwaukee man was located and cited.
Monday, July 4 – A Muskego woman reported being harassed while walking on Quietwood Dr. around 9:15pm. She reported two subjects making rude comments to her as she walked down the street. They then approached her and knocked her down, before being startled by her cell phone and a person in the area asking what was going on. She was able to make it home and was not injured. The suspects are described as a male white with blond hair and Khaki shorts, and a male Hispanic wearing a black t-shirt, both in their 20’s. No suspects have been identified.
