BB and Paint Gunners Targeting a Rash of Oak Creek Vehicles Overnight

OAK CREEK -- If you have had your vehicle damaged by a BB gun or paintball gun in the past week, you're not alone.
Patch.com reviewed police call logs over the past week and learned that at least 17 vehicles have been damaged by gun-wielding suspects during the nighttime hours. In the following days there may have been even more reports. The problem has become so persistent, that officers are on the lookout for evidence of BB gun and paintball gun use during routine traffic stops or while they are investigating suspicious behavior.

Sep. 29:
Police found that several vehicles had their windows shot out by an apparent BB gun early on Sep. 29.

The front drivers side window was reportedly smashed out on a vehicle on the 7500 S. Crane Drive. The front drivers side window of a vehicle was reportedly smashed out on the 2000 block of E. Oak St.
Police also found a van with a hole in its driver's side window on the 6500 block of S. Crane Dr. A vehicle also had its driver side rear passenger window broken due to a BB gun on the 2000 block of E. Spruce Ct.
Another vehicle located on the 2000 block of E. Norwood Drive also had is driver side front window shot out by a BB gun. Officers also found a BB gun smashed the window of a 2005 Chevy Suburban on the 2000 block of E. Birch St.
Sep. 30
The BB gun shooters were at it again on Sep. 30, this time hitting multiple vehicles - one on the 2500 block of E. Honeysuckle Drive, two on the 10300 block of S. Ashley Lane and another on the 8600 block of S. Riverton Road.
A resident followed up with police later in the day saying their vehicle had its window shot out on the 190 block of Trillium Terrace the previous evening. A company van parked on the 10000 block of S. McGraw Drive was also reportedly shot 6 times by a BB gun.
Police noted that there were 10 previous cases of car windows being shot out by BB guns recently.
Both incidents were reported between 2-3 a.m. on Sep. 30.
Several more cars - one on the 2900 block of E. Honeysuckle Drive,one on the 2700 block of E. Fenway Drive, one on the 10400 block of S. Kelley Drive, one on the 1000 block of E. Twin Oaks Drive, on the 10400 block of S. Katie Drive, one on the 9700 block of S. Austin St., and two on the 700 block of E. Bridlewood Lane all were targeted by the operator of a paintball gun.
