Drunk Driver Skids, Crashes into Light Pole on Rawson
The driver reported to police that she swerved out of the way when she saw a car coming at her, skidded and struck a nearby light pole.

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police tended to a two-vehicle accident on the 600 block of W. Rawson Ave. just after 9 p.m. on May 9.
According to police reports, a vehicle was attempting to turn north at the intersection of Sixth and W. Rawson Ave. when the driver said she thought a car was coming toward her from Rawson Ave. She reported to police that she swerved out of the way, skidded and struck a nearby light pole. No other vehicles were involved, according to the police report.
Police observed that the driver had a moderate odor of intoxicants coming from her breath and admitted that she had been drinking.

The driver reportedly failed standard field sobriety tests, and was found to also have marijuana on her person. A legal blood draw revealed that the driver had a blood alcohol content of .20 - greater than Wisconsin's legal limit for Operating While Intoxicated.
She was issued a citation for Operating While Intoxicated, Operating with a Prohibited Alcohol Concentration and her vehicle was towed from the scene.
