Firework Explodes Oak Creek Child's Foot
A man and his nephew were walking along the west side of S. Nicholson Rd. when he "heard a loud bang" and saw his nephew fall into a ditch.

OAK CREEK, WI — A child walking on the 8900 block of S. Nicholson Rd. with his uncle on the evening of July 12 unexpectedly ended up in the emergency room after he unwittingly stepped on a firework.
According to police reports, a man and his nephew were walking along the west side of S. Nicholson Rd. when he "heard a loud bang" and saw his nephew fall into a ditch.
According to police reports, the nephew told police he stepped on a firework which blew his foot out of the top of his shoe, causing a severe injury.

The nephew was found laying on the ground, and was helped into a vehicle and transported to the Wheaton emergency room for treatment.
