MATC Student Auto Workers Find Unexpected Item in Car: A Loaded Gun

MATC students set to repair a black BMW found an unexpected item in the car they were about to fix: a loaded handgun.

OAK CREEK -- Oak Creek police are following-up with the owner of a black BMW after the owner apparently took the car to MATC for repairs - but left a loaded gun in the glove box.

MATC public safety officers reported that they recovered a gun and ammunition from a vehicle in their auto shop. Oak Creek police reported speaking with instructors there on Nov. 14, who advised the officers that a student located a gun in the glove box of a vehicle they were set to do repairs on.

The vehicle, a Black BMW, had been at MATC for about a week when the gun was discovered.

The gun, a Ruger LCP .380 handgun with a magazine that had 5 bullets in it.
The gun was collected as evidence by authorities and police are following up with the vehicle's owner.
