Menomonee Falls Man Sentenced in Fatal Hit-And-Run Accident

A Menomonee Falls man has been sentenced in the 2015 hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist in Germantown.

WISCONSIN — A Menomonee Falls man has been sentenced in court in the 2015 hit-and-run crash that killed a bicyclist in Germantown.

32-year-old Adam Neuhaus was sentenced this week in the death of 50-year-old Keith Habenicht. According to a report by FOX 6, Neuhaus was sentenced to serve two-and-a-half years in prison, and another five years on supervised release.

Habenicht was charged with Homicide by Negligent Operation/Vehicle and Hit and Run-Involve Injury, both felony charges that could have resulted in more than five years behind bars.

According to the report by FOX 6, Habenicht was riding his bicycle home from the store when he was hit in Germantown. Authorities said Neuhaus did not stop to help, and witnesses said he had been drinking at a bar before the crash.
