Oak Creek Bomb Scare Scam Targets 2 Local Businesses
Police fielded 2 calls regarding a scam in which the alleged scammers threatened to blow up a building if they did not receive money.

OAK CREEK, WI — Police fielded a call regarding a scam in which the alleged scammers threatened to blow up a building if they did not receive money.
Oak Creek police were dispatched to the Aqua Salon and Spa on Howell Ave. on May 30 on a report that the salon had received a fax scan that intimated a bomb threat.
According to police reports, the business received a fax that stated they needed to send $25,000 to an unknown suspect or they would put explosives on the building to blow it up.

Police also took a similar complaint regarding a residence that received a similar message on their fax-printer several days ago. According to the report, this is a scam that is going around the area.
On May 28, a resident on the 700 block of W. River Edge Ct. reported that they found a letter in his printer advising him that there were "bombs in the building" and that if he did not send $25,000 to the suspect, he would "blow up this whole block."

The letter directed the resident to go to the nearest Western Union and send the whole amount to the suspect. Police advised that the letter was a scam.
