Oak Creek Burglar Arrested After $1 Loss To Dollar Store

A youth accused of stealing from the Dollar Tree in Oak Creek was arrested for retail theft after the store reportedly lost $1 in the heist.

OAK CREEK, WI — A youth accused of stealing from the Dollar Tree in Oak Creek was arrested for retail theft after the store reportedly lost $1 in the heist.

Oak Creek police responded to the Dollar Tree in Oak Creek at 8561 S. Howell Ave. after employees in the store had locked themselves in the store office after hearing two suspects enter the building after-hours and begin rummaging through items.

One of the burglars was met by officers at the scene, who determined that he had stolen merchandise hidden under his clothes.

According to police, the youth had stolen Animal Crackers, Pepsi, Flaming Hot Cheetos, 2 Starburst, and a pack of Blow Pops.

The total value of the property was $6, but it was returned to employees, besides the Pepsi, which was discarded.

The youth was arrested and issued a municipal citation for retail theft.
