Oak Creek Car Thief Steals 2 Running Cars in 15 Minutes
A woman who went inside to get her glasses left her car running ... and it was just the beginning for one car thief.

OAK CREEK, WI — An Oak Creek car thief reportedly stole two cars in the span of 15 minutes after are residents performed their ordinary morning routine of warming up their cars in the driveway before heading to work.
A 911 caller on the 100 block E. Fitzsimmons Rd. reported that his vehicle was just stolen out of his driveway with the keys in the ignition, while it was running just before 4:45 a.m. on Feb. 2.
The vehicle was described as a maroon Ford Explorer. While officers were on the scene checking the area for the vehicle, dispatched took a call of a second stolen vehicle on Stuart Dr., also taken with the keys located inside. Oak Creek police located the Ford Explorer running outside of the Stuart address with the keys in the ignition, running.

Oak Creek police brought the owner of the Ford Explorer back to his vehicle so it could be removed.

About 15 minutes later, Oak Creek police responded to the 200 block of Stuart Rd. on a report of a Volkswagen Passat that had just been stolen out of their driveway. In that case, the vehicle was left running in the driveway with the keys in it.
The vehicle owner told police that she left the vehicle unattended "for only seconds" to run into the house to get her glasses.
Officers searched the area and were unable to locate the Passat, however they did find the first stolen vehicle - the Ford Explorer.
