Oak Creek Family Accused of $3 Million in Federal Food Stamp Fraud
BREAKING: According to the indictment, the Rahim family used the store to exchange SNAP cards for cash - and pocketing half the value.

OAK CREEK -- A family living in Oak Creek has been indicted in federal court this week, accused of racking up $3 million in improper food stamp benefits while operating a Milwaukee-area convenience store.
According to a report published Thursday by the Journal Sentinel, the indictment indicates the alleged fraud was committed at Family Super Saver store 2301 W. Hopkins St. on Milwaukee's North Side between 2009 and 2014. According to the indictment, the Rahim family used the store to exchange SNAP cards for cash. The Rahims are accused of claiming the full value of the SNAP cards, giving half the amount to the recipients in cash and keeping the rest.
Elham M. "Brenda" Abdul Rahim and Ahmad Zaki Abdul Rahim were both indicted on a count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Elham Rahim also was indicted on counts of fraud and unauthorized use of food stamps, while Ahmad Rahim was also indicted on a count of lying to investigators from the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the Journal Sentinel has reported.
