Oak Creek Man Had Open Bottle of Vodka, 8-Year-Old in Back Seat

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police arrested a drunk driver after they found the man had an open bottle of vodka and an 8-year-old sleeping in the back seat of the vehicle.

According to Oak Creek police reports, an officer pulled over the man's vehicle on the 6700 block of S. Pennsylvania Ave. just after midnight on May 4 for having dim headlights.

The Report states that there was a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the vehicle and that the child was sleeping in the rear seat of the vehicle.

The driver reportedly failed standard field sobriety tests. Intoximeter test results indicated the driver had a blood alcohol concentration of .09; a preliminary breath test indicated .10.

The man was taken into custody, the child was turned over to a responsible party and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
