Oak Creek Mom Arrested For Child Neglect After Car Accident

OAK CREEK, WI — The mother of two young children was arrested for child neglect after her two children were left alone in her apartment for "several hours" after the mom went for a ride - only to become involved in a rollover accident.

According to police reports, the mother of a three-year-old and five-year-old children was involved in a rollover car accident on the afternoon of July 13, which resulted in the two children being left alone for several hours at the Apartment Homes of Wildwood on the 7900 block of Wildwood Drive.

The mother's ex received multiple messages from her at Froedtert, stating that she left her two children alone in the apartment and ended up in the accident.

After the ex contacted the apartment manager, police eventually became involved after they couldn't find one of the children after the three-year-old was the only one who answered the door.

Police were allowed in the apartment to check for the missing child, who was ultimately found inside and unharmed.
According to the police report, due to the children being left in the apartment alone for several hours and the condiction of the residence, Child Protective Services was contacted.

Later, the mother was arrested for neglecting a child and was ordered into court on July 20.
