Oak Creek Squad Nearly Struck By Young Driver in Wild Police Pursuit

A wild police chase through Caledonia, Franklin and Oak Creek led to a young driver getting caught in Franklin.

OAK CREEK, WI — A wild police chase through Caledonia, Franklin and Oak Creek led to a young driver getting caught in Franklin after nearly striking an Oak Creek police squad.

According to police reports, just after 1:30 p.m. on May 28, Oak Creek police reported that the driver of a gray Ford F-150 almost struck a police squad on W. Sunnyview Road before the vehicle fled, veering off the road east on Centennial.

Franklin police advised police to drive to the registered owner's residence if the vehicle returns.

Oak Creek police advised that the driver of the truck arrived, only to end up driving through back yards.
Franklin police were in the area pursuing the wayward driver, only to lose sight of it near 35th and Drexel.

About a half-hour later, police spotted the driver at 27th and Drexel and made a positive ID on the driver.
The driver continued haphazardly, driving over a curb, exceeding 60 miles per hour, going over the median and driving into oncoming traffic and not stopping for red lights.

The vehicle was last seen in the area of Sixth and Drexel before it was again lost.

Later in the afternoon, Franklin police advised they had the driver in custody and interred at the Children's Detention Center.
