Oak Creek Stolen iPhone Aids In Stolen Car Search
An Oak Creek couple came home from a softball game to find their car, and iPhone, stolen. A GPS app helped police in their search.

OAK CREEK, WI — Oak Creek police responded to a report of a burglary on the 2300 block of W. Carrington Ave. just before midnight on July 29.
According to police reports, an Oak Creek couple had just come home from a softball game, only to find that their garage door had been forced open and their 2015 Hyundai Santa Fe was stolen from inside their garage.
The couple reported that the keys to their vehicle and an iPhone were stolen from the home.

According to police reports, the couple had the phone's "find my iPhone" feature activated, and police tracked down the phone to an address on the north side of Milwaukee near S. Green Bay Ave. and W. Custer Ave.
Police activated a feature that allows the phone to make a loud ping sound. Officers were able to hear the sound of the ping, which led them to a house where the phone was ultimately located.

Police spoke with the occupants of the home who stated they purchased the phone from a man who was selling it at a Pick 'n Save earlier in the day. The holders of the iPhone in Miwlaukee were taken into custody pending charges. The stolen car was entered as stolen for records.
