Oak Creek police responded to the Kohl's Department Store on 9035 S. Howell Ave. on a report that a female shoplifter had just left the store with stolen merchandise in her purse.
Police responded just before Noon on Sep. 27. Police tracked down the suspect in her vehicle a short time later and located the missing items, which totaled $107.84.

Police also reportedly found items in the trunk of the car that the suspect admitted she stole from the Kohl's at the Bayshore Town Center. The female suspect was issued a citation for retail theft and a warning for non-registration of her vehicle.

The owner of Eliana Homes reported a theft to police on Sep. 27. According to Oak Creek police, the owner of Eliana Homes said an employee of the company had embezzled approximately $500,000 for personal use. The owner first noticed the issue in mid-September when she went to her accountant regarding some payroll issues. She was then informed the company owed more than $80,000 in back taxes.
The accountant told the owner that the suspect employee advised not to pay the tax revenue until certain other funds became available. According to the police report, an investigation into the situation is ongoing as company officials work to gather the necessary paperwork and bank records.
