Bus, Car Driver Disagree on Traffic Violation

The driver of a gray minivan was advised by police after a Riteway Bus Service driver reported an apparent school bus violation near the intersection of S. 27th St. and W. Hilltop Lane on the afternoon of Nov. 14.
According to the police report, the driver of a gray minivan slowed behind the bus, but then passed the school bus on the left side with the red lights on and the stop arm deployed.
The officer followed-up with the driver who stated she was driving when the bus was not at a complete stop and the stop arm was not fully extended. The driver advised that she cautiously passed the bus, knowing that it had not yet come to a stop.
Police advised her on the complaint and issued a warning.

Puppy Play Date Goes Horribly Wrong

Oak Creek police advised a resident on Nov. 14 after she came into the police department, reporting that her dog was attacked by another dog.

According to the report, she and another dog owner brought their dogs together for a puppy play date. The report stated that when the two dogs got together, a Bull Mastiff bit the female's dog in the mouth area, resulting in a broken jaw for the dog and a $1,700 vet bill for the dog's owner.

The person who walked into the police department stated that the other dog owner is refusing to help pay the vet bill. Police advised the person that this particular issue was a civil matter.
