Purse Stolen From Car Yields Fraudulent Walmart Charges

An Oak Creek woman learned that her bank account was more than $800 in the red after her purse was stolen on July 3.

OAK CREEK, WI — An Oak Creek woman learned that her bank account was more than $800 in the red after her purse was stolen on July 3.

According to police reports, a resident on the 8400 block of S. Sharon Drive reported that her purse was taken from her vehicle, which had its windows down.

The purse was a brown canvas backpack-style with one strap.

It contained a black wallet which middle and high school ID cards, a UW-La Crosse ID card, and various bank and credit cards.

The apparent victim in this case believes the Visa car was used at the Franklin Walmart for $100, and was attempted to be used at the Milwaukee Walmart and Red Box.
