When police investigated, they learned that McPherson, who was at the Children of America Daycare in Oak Creek, had been playing with the baby in a rocking chair and had been engaged in physical actions, bending and twisting the infant, her criminal complaint stated.
According to the parents, the baby hadn't fully recovered earlier this year.
“As you can imagine, this is every parent’s worst nightmare — to drop off your child at day care and then pick up your child and have to find out that something terrible has happened,” said Attorney Jason Abraham, in a FOX 6 report.
When investigators told McPherson that these actions likely injured the child, she stated that "I guess I did it too hard and didn't realize it," according to her criminal complaint.
