Swim, Dive Make Big Splash Despite Smaller Teams

Even though fewer Port Washington High School players are taking to the water this year than in the past, the team is still seeing success.

The Port Washington Swim and Dive continue to see success in the pool this year despite smaller numbers on the team.

On Sept. 8, the Pirates took on Kohler at home. First place finishes were turned in by Alex Anderson in the 100-yard butterfly, with a time of 1:19.40; Mary Nuedling in the 100-yard freestyle at 1:05.98; Kelsey Brockman in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2.21.99; and the 400-yard freestyle relay team of Nuedling, Brockman, Kelsey Zema  and Anderson with a time of 4.20.28.

Port diving returns with a strong team. Senior Claire Kinzer and junior Hayley Seitz are returning after qualifying for state last year, and look forward to another strong season. The dive team is rounded out with strong divers, junior Maddy Walls and sophomore Kristin Smith.
