Four To Be Honored During Women Of Distinction Virtual Event

Four Waukesha County women will be honored during the 37th annual Women of Distinction (WOD) celebration on July 15.

WAUKESHA, WI (May 21, 2021) – Four Waukesha County women will be honored during the 37th annual Women of Distinction (WOD) celebration on July 15.

For the second year, the signature annual fundraiser of the Women and Girls Fund of Waukesha County (WGF) will be held virtually, with showings at noon and 7 p.m. on Facebook and YouTube.
Honorees are:

β€’ Dr. DeAnne Blazek of Waukesha, a dentist who ran a successful practice and has dedicated much of her professional life to providing critical oral health care to those who could not afford it. She is an active volunteer at Community Smiles Dental. DeAnne also serves on the board and is a longtime member of the Lions Club, mentors dental students at Marquette University, and serves on the board and teaches at the Pankey Institute.

β€’ Suzanne Kelley of Hartland, president and CEO of the Waukesha County Business Alliance (WCBA). She is credited with expanding the WCBA’s influence and providing new opportunities for colleagues and businesses. She serves in volunteer leadership roles for United Way, La Casa de Esperanza, Carroll University, and Wisconsin Women in Government.

β€’ Jane Lurvey of Delafield, a retired paraeducator, who has made a great impact across the community by recruiting, organizing and training volunteers for multiple service projects. She volunteers at Delafield Presbyterian Church, the Hope Center, and ProHealth AngelsGrace hospice. She also organizes volunteers who provide school supplies and Christmas gifts for children who live in an area affordable housing development.

β€’ Elaina Rodriguez of Waukesha, a sophomore at Carroll University majoring in healthcare administration. She is recognized as a young leader and has volunteered at La Casa de Esperanza’s charter school, Community Smiles Dental, a senior living center, Hope House of Milwaukee, and with Best Buddies at Carroll.
