Happy HAWS-y Holidays!
In the spirit of the holidays, we share a HAWS adoption success story.
At HAWS, we do what we do so animals like Piggy can have a second chance at a spectacular life. Piggy was one of several dogs that came to our shelter needing a little extra attention and TLC. Thankfully, with the help of our generous community, we were in a position to help Piggy, and within a few months he was ready for his new home! He has THRIVED, and we are so happy to hear it:
Hello!
I thought I would pass along an update and some photos! Piggy continues to do very well. He has become quite the country dog, never hesitating to head outside spending most of the day with my dad together working on the farm! Altho I wouldnβt call him a farm dog...our farm cats do a much better job herding him! He has an orange tabby cat that he plays with quite a bit (mostly the cat chases him around the property). Piggy does a great job supervising our kittens. He is very cautious and gentle with them. He is such a gentleman in the house. I donβt think we could have found a more polite dog! Piggy loves snuggling with the family and being wrapped up in blankets. He has spent many nights sleeping under a comforter! He loves to play fetch with his tennis balls and sticks, although he is much more willing to bring back the ball rather than the sticks!
And our most recent update from Piggyβs family:

Hello!
We hope all is well at HAWS! Piggy continues to do well and continues to be a more confident dog. He has become quite the travel companion! He enjoys sitting in the back of the SUV and watching out the back window. He is also a favorite at family gatherings - our family loves playing with him, napping with him, and sneaking him treats. Our vet told us that Piggy is his favorite patient... he doesnβt even flinch when he keeps his claws clipped! Iβve included a few photos of Piggy doing his favorite things - sleeping under his blankets in one of his many beds and hanging out in the front lawn watching all of the happenings on the farm.
Thank you, HAWS!
During this season of giving and caring, please consider a donation to HAWS, so we can help even more dogs, cats and small animals like Piggy.
