All God's Children Announces A New Playground Being Built; Special Participation Event Mon., Sept. 15

All Godβs Children (AGC), a ministry of Christ the King Lutheran Church of Delafield, at 1600 N. Genesee St., announced it is building a new playground on the church grounds to replace the one used for about 30 years. To build the playground, AGC also is holding a volunteer participation event similar to old-fashioned neighbors-helping-neighbors-type get-togethers.
The construction of the new playground for children of ages 2-12 years will take place this Monday, September 15, on the church campus. The new equipment will include a double sliding board, a bumpy sliding board,a funnel tunnel, a solar climber, a funny bones bridge with monkey bars, balconies with a telescope and steering wheels, plus a novel quattro seasaw that was selected by children who visited other playgrounds to see what they might like on their own. The playground is a Playworld System that was designed by Vern Lee Recreation from Madison.
The community/staff/membership aspect of this project on Monday is for people invited to come and join in the work and fun of putting all of the playground pieces together and setting them up in the designated places. The playground will be used for the preschool children enrolled in the churchβs All Godβs Children program, and also for Sunday school children after Sunday services, for the Vacation Bible School program in summers, plus other church and community-invited events held at church.

Laurie Wilson, director of the AGC program at the church, said: βOur playground committee has worked hard to get a playground structure that has been designed for the needs of AGC as well as the church. It will offer fun for all of the children that will get to use it.β She added, βOur playground community build day will begin this Monday at 8 a.m. We will have moms, dads, and grandparents of our preschool families along with church members and AGC staff members helping throughout the day. We anticipate the playground to be completed by 4 in the afternoon. We will also have a coffee starting at 8:45 Monday morning for all families to visit, watch, and participate if theyβd like. And all of the volunteer workers will be served lunch that is being donated by parents.β
