Photos: Trick or Treat Comes to Downtown Waukesha

Huge success during Saturday's special Trick or Treat hours. Regular trick or treat is from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Halloween.

Trick or Treat in downtown Waukesha was not what I was expecting!

The turnout was much, much higher than I thought it would be. I guessed wrong.

I considered printing out 200 fliers to promote Patch and our Halloween costume contest to the parents who were out trick or treating with their little pumpkins during the special downtown hours.

I opted for 300 fliers. At the end of the day, 299 fliers were in the hands of parents and one was left for me to take home.

That means more than 300 parents – closer to 600 because I only got to about half the parents – were taking their children for the special Halloween tradition. I’ve no idea how many kids there were, but let me tell you  – their costumes were creative!

The Waukesha Business Improvement District was out taking photos of the event – and even grabbed one of me passing out candy to the children. They also took a picture of my favorite costume. Hands down, the child dressed as a minion from Despicable Me was my top pick from the day.

A special thanks to the folks at who gave me a table to help with passing out candy.

Trick or treat in A Patch photographer will be out and about, so put on the best smile!
