Two Adult Psychiatrists Join Staff at Rogers Memorial Hospital

Tyler Rickers, D.O., and Monika Aneja Khiani, M.D., have joined the medical staff at Rogers Memorial Hospital.

Tyler Rickers, D.O., and Monika Aneja Khiani, M.D., have joined the medical staff at Rogers Memorial Hospital. Dr. Rickers works primarily with young adults in Rogers’ FOCUS program, and Dr. Khiani works with Rogers’ adult inpatient program.

A graduate of Des Moines University in Des Moines, Iowa, Dr. Rickers completed his psychiatric residency at the University of Wisconsin in Madison and his fellowship in electroconvulsive therapy at Emory University in Atlanta, Ga. His primary responsibilities include working with Jerry Halverson, M.D., as part of FOCUS, a residential treatment program for young adults with mood disorders. He will also work with young adults in the inpatient and partial hospitalization programs of Rogers Memorial Hospital–Oconomowoc.

Dr. Rickers is a member of the American Psychiatric Association, the Wisconsin Psychiatric Association, the American Medical Association and the American Osteopathic Association. He specializes in treating resistant depression and personality disorders, specifically borderline personality disorder. Most recently, he served as a hospitalist in inpatient psychiatry at Meriter Hospital in Madison and as faculty with UW’s School of Medicine and Public Health’s department of psychiatry.

A graduate of Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, Ill., Dr. Khiani completed her psychiatry residency at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. Her primary responsibilities include treating patients in the inpatient psychiatric unit and partial hospitalization program at Rogers Memorial Hospital–West Allis. Dr. Khiani takes pride in her diverse training and is skilled in acute stabilization of hospitalized patients. In addition to medication management, she is trained in psychodynamic therapy and cognitive behavioral therapy.

Dr. Khiani is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry. Her experience also includes providing care to underserved populations, who can be most vulnerable to mental illness. Dr. Khiani implements a strong collaborative care model for patients – combining the skills of physicians, nurses, social workers, psychiatric technicians and other healthcare providers to provide optimal patient care.
