UEDA Announces 13th Annual Community Development Summit
"The Intersection of Arts & Community Development: New Paradigms in Practice & Action"
Milwaukee β On Thursday, October 16, 2014 the Urban Economic Development Association of Wisconsin (UEDA) will host its 13th annual Community Development Summit, which will feature an interactive βlabβ format designed to engage a diverse group of stakeholders and develop strategies to move projects forward. The event will be held at the Italian Conference Center, located at 631 E. Chicago Street in Milwaukee from 8 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Community members, creatives, development practitioners, artists, business owners, neighborhood organizations, local and regional government representatives, funders and other community stakeholders will be in attendance to discuss and demonstrate how arts, culture and creativity intersect with community development strategies to transform neighborhoods, business districts and other urban areas.
βThis year, UEDAβs Summit will focus on specific development projects, districts and corridors in Milwaukee through the lens of art and creativity,β said Bill Johnson, executive director of UEDA. βIβm confident that all in attendance will leave with actionable, measurable next steps that can help move community projects forward.β

This yearβs Summit will feature interactive βlabβ discussions focused on the Bronzeville District, Milwaukeeβs Commercial Corridors, Sherman Park Theater Project and Walkerβs Point Innovation District.
Registration for the event, including lunch, is $35.00 for non-UEDA members and $25.00 for current UEDA members.
