Construction crews were clearing debris Monday from a building that was demolished last week to make way for Advanced Auto Parts at 1617 Summit Ave.

The Waukesha Plan Commission approved the project in August 2010. The minutes of that meeting state the owners are looking at a $1.2 million investment into the 6,500-square-foot store.

The new building is expected to bring about 50 jobs to the area, the Plan Commission minutes state.
