Waukesha Apartment Resident Escapes While Burglary Suspects Still Inside

An apartment resident told police he escaped as two burglary suspects entered as he was asleep.

WAUKESHA, WI — An apartment resident told police he escaped as two burglary suspects entered as he was asleep.

Waukesha police responded to the 100 block of W. North St. for a report of a burglary in progress just before 2 a.m.

According to the report, an apartment resident told police he heard two suspects walk into his apartment through the unlocked door while he was sleeping.

The man told police that he was able to leave the apartment while the suspects were inside. He fled to a neighboring apartment where 911 was called.

Three squads were dispatched to the apartment and arrived just after 2 a.m. on the police call.

At the time of police arrival, there was nobody in the apartment, and it did not appear that anything had been disturbed in the apartment while the resident was out.

The suspects were described by the resident as two males in their 20s. They were wearing hoodies at the time of the incident, the resident said.
