Waukesha Author Jim Landwehr releases second book.

eLectio Publishing, LLC, is proud to announce the release of Written Life, a collection of poetry by author and poet Jim Landwehr.

In this collection, Landwehr brings his love for poetry together in a single volume. Written Lifetakes a whimsical swing at poetic conventions as it delves into the intricacies of Midwestern life in the twenty-first century. It asks the hard questions, such as: God, who are you? Death, when will you come? Dog, have you been let out lately? Filled with introspection and humor, along with joy and sorrow, Written Life covers the intricacies of daily living; even murder and pyromania are fair game for Landwehr’s observations on the human condition.

Landwehr noted that he enjoys all forms of writing, particularly poetry and nonfiction. His first book, Dirty Shirt: A Boundary Waters Memoir, was published by eLectio Publishing in June of 2014 and has been very well received by both readers and reviewers alike. He has non-fiction stories published in Boundary Waters Journal, Forge Journal and Main Street Rag, among others. And his poetry has been featured in Off the Coast, Torrid Literature Journal, andEchoes Poetry Journal, to name just a few. Jim lives and works in Waukesha with his wife Donna and their children Sarah and Ben. He works as a Geographic Information Systems Analyst for the Waukesha County Department of Parks and Land Use.

Madison Poet Laureate Sarah Busse was just one of several who made note of Landwehr’s ability to relate with all walks of life through his poetry.
“This is a book of poems for anyone who treasures a well-told story on a winter night, or a good joke told while fishing,” Busse said. “The lives here are ‘written’ and, as the title suggests, they are also held together by love, time and memory.”
