Waukesha Salvation Army Reaches Red Kettle Goal
$800,000 goal for 2018 reached in the final weeks of January with a late surge.

WAUKESHA, WI -- An end-of-campaign surge in giving has lifted The Salvation Army of Waukesha County over its $800,000 goal for the 2018 Red Kettle Christmas Campaign. The campaign officially closes at the end of January each year.
"We are so grateful for the generous contributions large and small, and for the many kind words
we have received from caring people in Waukesha County," said local officer, Major Nelson De La
Vergne. "We have donors who give a pocketful of loose change when they’re able, all the way up to
those generous families, foundations and businesses that write checks for thousands of dollars to
support our charitable work for those in need. We are very humbled and appreciative."
The Waukesha County Salvation Army operates a large food pantry, a three-nights-per-week
hot meal program, an emergency shelter that sleeps fifty men nearly every night, a youth ministry
program and summer day camp, a program that visits residents of area nursing homes, and programs that provide emergency prescription assistance, emergency utility assistance, and that feed hungry kids in the summer when school is out of session.
