Waukesha Trash Pickup 'A Mess' ... But They're Trying: Report

City officials said that Advanced Disposal has suffered a number of issues at they try to collect trash in Waukesha according to schedule.

WAUKESHA, WI -- Record-cold temperatures, truck breakdowns, closures are all hampering trash collection in the City of Waukesha, though local officials say the company hired to do the job is doing their best under difficult circumstances.

"For the duration of this week, Advanced Disposal will be doing what they can to get garbage picked up," Waukesha officials said Thursday. Garbage is being picked up one day later than your normally scheduled day. They will be collecting through Saturday. We know that this situation is not ideal for anyone. We sincerely apologize for any confusion and apologize to those who had collections missed this week."

City officials said that Advanced Disposal has suffered a number of truck break-downs and other issues as they try to continue collections.

"If your collection is missed, unfortunately they will not will be able to return until your next scheduled day next week for garbage or in two-weeks on your regular recycling date. Next week, Advanced Disposal will collect extra garbage bags that are placed outside of the can to make up for missing some homes this week," Waukesha officials said in a statement.

Those who have recycling missed can bring it to the Drop-Off Center on Saturdays from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m.
