United Way Connects the Community to Volunteer Opportunities
(March 19, 2014)—United Way in Waukesha County would like to invite volunteers to the following volunteer opportunities:
General Office Volunteer – Waukesha
Use your organizational skills to provide clerical support to the staff of Safe Babies Healthy Families through copying, filing, putting together resource packets in folders, data entry, typing and general office tasks. We are looking for individuals who have working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc. Schedules will be based on mutually agreed upon time frames and are flexible.
Pharmacy Assistant – Menomonee Falls
The pharmacy assistant gathers and packages patient's medications and completes prescription label for dispensing by pharmacist, physician or nurse practitioner, organizes medications in medication room and takes out the outdated medications monthly. Volunteers needed during clinic hours (5-9pm) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. There is no set schedule for volunteering. Training is providing for all roles.
Yard Work Volunteer - Waukesha
Do you have a green thumb? Help to provide general yard maintenance at this women's shelter in Waukesha that provides safety and support to women and their families that are victims of domestic violence. Help to provide a well-kept home for the clients, by mowing the lawn, pulling weeds. No schedule commitment required! Volunteer must complete application and schedule a short interview with Volunteer Coordinator.
Habitat Helpers - Waukesha
Assist or lead a group of 15-20 girls grades 4-5. Girls will wander in the woods and gallop through the grasslands on the ultimate outdoor trek. Assist as girls explore surrounding animal habitats and take action to protect one of them. Event sessions on May 10th and May 17th in the morning to afternoon.
Fill the Bus! Volunteer/Coordinator - Waukesha
Do you want to help a child succeed in school? Then join the Backpack Coalition, Inc. in the effort to supply children with the tools they need to get the most out of their education! Looking for a volunteer who can commit to 15-20 hours between March-August. This person should be organized with attention to detail, have great communication skills, the ability to give and take direction and the ability to work independently. Excellent opportunity to gain inexperience in fundraising and nonprofit field and be part of an incredible team!
