Wisconsin Campaign Video Features Live Breastfeeding Mom: Watch

Take a look at a political first: a Wisconsin candidate for governor breastfeeds her daughter live on-camera as she talks about banning BPA

MADISON – In the first-ever political campaign ad of its kind, Wisconsin Democratic candidate for governor Kelda Roys gets right to the point — or should we say right to the nipple.

In the campaign video which was released Tuesday, Roys breastfeeds her infant daughter while talking about her work to ban the toxic chemical BPA that is used to make baby bottles and sippy cups.

In the video, which you can see for yourself below, she starts her talk about her work to ban Bisphenol A when she was a state representative. In the middle of her talk, her husband Dan hands over her daughter for an in-commercial feeding.

“That’s what wrong with politics today. Are we taking our orders from people or are we taking them from chemical corporations that don’t care at all about what people need?" she says in her campaign ad. "We were still able, by working across the aisle, pass a bill to ban BPA.”

Roys, 38, represented Wisconsin's 81st Assembly District from 2008 until 2013, and during the 2011-2013 session, served as Minority Caucus Chair. Wisconsin's 81st serves an area just northwest of Madison.
