Wisconsin Medicare Plans Make U.S. News Honor Roll
Medicare enrollment opened in October and several Wisconsin plans are highly regarded, according to a new ranking.

U.S. News & World Report released a new set of rankings this month, categorizing the best Medicare plans for 2018. The rankings include plans that made U.S. Newsβ honor roll for the best Medicare Advantage plans and best Medicare Part D plans.
The enrollment period for Medicare opened Oct. 15 and runs through Dec. 7. In order to make the U.S. News list, a Medicare plan had to receive at least a 4.5 star rating from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, which ranks plans from 1 to 5. In addition to that, all of the plans provided by the state had to earn at least 3 stars.
Medicare Advantage plans are available through private insurers to those eligible for original Medicare (or Medicare Parts A and B). Medicare Part D plans offer prescription drug coverage.
