WAUWATOSA, WI — Across the United States, people will be celebrating Memorial Day on Monday, a national holiday to honor those who died in active military service.
Although it's a national holiday, many retail businesses around the city and village will be open. But it's always idea to call ahead and check.

Here's a look at how Memorial Day will affect institutions and services around Wauwatosa:
Municipal Court: Milwaukee County Circuit Court is closed Monday.

Government: City Hall and offices will be closed. Federal, state and county offices also will be closed.
Schools: No classes for the Wauwatosa Public School District. The district's administrative offices are also closed.
Wauwatosa Public Library: The Wauwatosa Public Library will be closed on the following days:
- Saturday, May 26, 2018
- Sunday, May 27, 2018
- Monday, May 28, 2018
Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.
Trash Pickup: There is no curbside collection on Memorial Day. Collection will be delayed by one day after this holiday. Collection that would normally occur on Friday, will be collected on Saturday. Use the MyWauwatosa feature on the homepage to find your personalized collection schedule.
