Professional Insurance Programs Earns Make More Happen Award for Wisconsin Dental Foundation
Community votes can unlock a $10,000 donation to expand dental care access across Wisconsin

Liberty Mutual Insurance has awarded Professional Insurance Programs (PIP) a 2026 Make More Happen™ Award for its longstanding partnership with the Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to improving oral health and overall well-being for residents across the state. The award includes a $5,000 donation, which can be doubled to $10,000 through online community support.
Professional Insurance Programs and the Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation’s story is featured on the official Make More Happen microsite at https://www.agentgiving.com/professional-insurance-programs. where supporters can vote to help unlock the full $10,000 donation. If the story receives at least 750 combined votes and comments, the $5,000 award will be doubled. The funding would go directly back into the community, helping provide essential dental care to Wisconsin residents in need. The initial $5,000 award would cover supplies and treatments for 20 patients at a Mission of Mercy (MOM) event - two-day temporary dental clinics that have provided free oral health services to low-income residents since 2009 - while an additional $5,000 would provide toothbrushes and toothpaste to more than 5,700 low-income individuals.
Professional Insurance Programs has supported the Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation for decades, guided by a simple belief: quality oral health care is a right, not a privilege, regardless of a person’s economic situation. The Foundation works to advance oral health across Wisconsin while supporting the dental community and developing future dental professionals. PIP’s commitment to that mission runs deep. Each year, the agency donates a $2,500 dividend from shares set aside in 1989 specifically to fund the Foundation’s charitable efforts.

“We know that a healthy smile can change the course of someone’s life,” said Sam Steinmetz, president of Professional Insurance Programs. “By combining financial support with volunteer time, our team helps remove barriers so Wisconsin families can get the care they need.”
Beyond financial contributions, PIP team members actively volunteer at MOM events. The agency has had staff participate in all 11 MOM events since the program began, demonstrating a sustained, hands-on commitment to expanding access to care.

One of the partnership’s most impactful moments came in 2024, when PIP made a $10,000 seed gift to launch the Foundation’s inaugural Mission Member Annual Support Campaign. Originally aiming to raise $70,000, the campaign exceeded expectations by bringing in $80,000, with PIP’s contribution accounting for 12.5% of the total.
“Recognizing independent agents’ dedication to their communities and nonprofit partners is what the Make More Happen Awards are all about,” said Marco Briceno, Senior Territory Manager, Liberty Mutual Insurance. “Professional Insurance Programs’ longstanding commitment to the Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation demonstrates how sustained support can create meaningful, lasting impact for individuals and families.”
Throughout 2026, Liberty Mutual Insurance will select up to 36 independent agencies nationwide for a Make More Happen Award, donating up to $360,000 to nonprofits they support. Agencies become eligible for the award by submitting applications that highlight their commitment to a specific cause.
