📰 News we're reading

• 10/05/2026: More Starbucks Unfair Labor Practices (nlrbedge.com) — Starbucks' West Allis store was found by the National Labor Relations Board to have violated federal labor law during a 2022 union drive, including threatening loss of benefits and raises. The decision, part of several recent Starbucks cases, clarifies which manager statements are unlawful and orders remedies in another case, underscoring ongoing national scrutiny of the company's union practices.

• Bank First plans new Rib Mountain, Weston, Plover offices after merger (wausaudailyherald.com) — A major merger between Bank First and Peoples State Bank will rebrand Peoples' West Allis branch under the Bank First name after December 7, while central Wisconsin locations see new construction and some layoffs. For West Allis customers, day-to-day banking should continue, but you'll eventually see new signage, systems, and corporate policies as the combined bank expands across Wisconsin.
