Lincoln High School celebrates AP scholars, teachers (wrcitytimes.com) — Lincoln High School in Wisconsin Rapids is celebrating strong Advanced Placement results, with 184 students taking 247 exams and 78% earning scores of 3 or higher, saving families an estimated $175,000 in potential college credit. Forty‑one students earned AP Scholar honors across multiple levels, and school leaders credit both hardworking students and dedicated AP teachers for building a culture of rigorous academics.
   

2. In Our Hearts Forever Memorial Service to Honor Babies Gone Too Soon (aspirus.org) — Families in Wisconsin Rapids are invited to a heartfelt "In Our Hearts Forever" memorial service on Sunday, Nov. 1 at 1 p.m. at Forest Hill Cemetery on Spring Street. Organized with support from Aspirus Wisconsin Rapids, the gathering offers a quiet space to honor babies lost too soon, connect with others who understand this grief, and leave flowers or mementos without needing to RSVP.
   

3. New ATV ordinance takes effect in Wisconsin Rapids (wsaw.com) — Starting today, most city streets in Wisconsin Rapids are now open to ATV and UTV traffic, giving riders a direct route through town instead of detouring around it. State highways 13, 34, 54 and 73 remain off-limits, and drivers must be licensed. City officials will review the ordinance annually and can temporarily close streets for construction or special events.
   

4. Stock the Shelves returns to help fight food insecurity in eastern Wisconsin (wisconsinrapidstribune.com) — Wisconsin Rapids is part of a statewide Stock the Shelves campaign starting today, as USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin newsrooms collect donations for 31 days to support Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin food pantries. With food insecurity rising sharply across the state, each donated dollar provides about $10 in purchasing power, helping local families weather both everyday hardship and future disasters.
   

5. Mid-State launches $32M fundraising drive for regional safety center (wausaudailyherald.com) — A major new public safety project could benefit Wisconsin Rapids residents as Mid-State Technical College launches a $32 million campaign for the Nexus Public Safety Center in Stevens Point, serving agencies across Wood and surrounding counties. Former Wisconsin Rapids police chief Kurt Heuer and other leaders say the facility will keep advanced training closer to home, support a new fire station, and strengthen coordinated emergency response in central Wisconsin.
