Pickleball is for everyone: Powerball Amateur Pickleball State Championship Series comes to Casper (oilcity.news) — Casper residents can catch top amateur pickleball action all weekend as the Powerball Amateur Pickleball State Championship runs Sept. 5–7 at the Casper Pickleball & Sports Complex, free to watch. Players from across Wyoming and beyond are competing for spots in a Dallas world championship, giving Casper strong representation on a national stage.
   

2. Your Saturday, Sept. 5 Guide: Five things to do in the Oil City (oilcity.news) — If you're looking for something to do in Casper today, there's a full slate of options from morning through evening. Downtown hosts a Back to Hogwarts Day, ART 321 offers a watercolor class, CitiWerks Cafe has open mic, The Hangar shows the Cowboys game, and the library's American Revolution exhibit continues.
   

3. Mission: To Find Lost WWII Crash Sites In Wyoming (kgab.com) — Casper's World War II legacy is being rediscovered as a volunteer team searches for long-lost training crash sites tied to the former Army Air Base at Casper/Natrona County Airport. With several sites already found, including one on Casper Mountain, they work with the Wyoming Veterans Museum to mark locations and hold memorials for fallen airmen and their families.
   

4. Felony warrant out for driver in crash that flipped vehicle last week in Casper (oilcity.news) — Casper-area readers should know a felony warrant has been issued for a 32-year-old man accused of battering a woman, then allegedly running a red light and causing a rollover crash near Evansville. Charges include DUI, battery, property destruction and leaving the scene, and he remains presumed innocent unless proven guilty.
   

5. Lawmakers consider higher taxes for data centers (wyomingpublicmedia.org) — State lawmakers met in Casper this week to debate whether large data centers should be taxed at a higher industrial rate, a move that could affect future projects in Natrona County. They ultimately delayed advancing the proposal, asking for clearer definitions and better reporting on tax exemptions before revisiting the issue in November.
