Cheyenne Police Recover Numerous Stolen Firearms After Teens Went 'Car Hopping' (cowboystatedaily.com) — Cheyenne police say a string of vehicle burglaries around the city led them to recover multiple stolen firearms and a 2025 Ford Bronco, with four juveniles taken into custody and a 16-year-old charged in adult court. Investigators executed five search warrants, traced stolen items using GPS and AirPods, and are still working to account for all missing guns and property. 
2. Downtown on-street parking striping set to begin in early September (wyomingnews.com) — Downtown Cheyenne drivers should expect temporary no-parking zones as the city begins restriping on-street parking in early September, starting on Warren Avenue and moving west and north–south. Work will roll block by block depending on weather and contractor availability, so residents, workers, and visitors are urged to watch for red "No Parking" signs and plan where to park before crews arrive.
3. Cheyenne Fire Rescue to place first ambulance in service next Tuesday (wyomingnews.com) — Cheyenne Fire Rescue will put its first-ever ambulance into service Tuesday at a public washdown and push-in ceremony at Station #3 on Hanson Street. The new unit adds emergency medical transport capability to the department, complementing AMR's work and marking a major step forward in how Cheyenne handles medical calls.
4. Cheyenne man charged with aggravated assault on suspicion of throwing cinder block (capcity.news subscription) — Cheyenne police arrested a 35-year-old man after a confrontation where he allegedly chased people, threw rocks, and hurled a cinder block at a resident, who was not injured. Prosecutors in Laramie County Circuit Court have charged him with aggravated assault and several related offenses, and he remains presumed innocent while the case moves forward.
5. Laramie County teen charged with felony after grabbing a knife during family dispute (capcity.news) — A Laramie County teen living at a Cheyenne-area home has been charged with felony aggravated assault after deputies say she grabbed a kitchen knife during a family dispute and allegedly lunged toward her mother's friend. No serious injuries were reported, and the teen, who recently left the Wyoming Girls School, is presumed innocent as the case proceeds in circuit court.
