1. Histories: 3-year-old boy dons a firefighting outfit during small fire at Hastings in 2003 (gillettenewsrecord.com) — Gillette residents get a look back at two big local moments: a 1976 police shooting investigation that led to a resignation and disbanding of the reserve program, and the Camels’ dominant 2003 state track title run. A lighter 2003 photo shows a 3‑year‑old in firefighting gear during a minor store fire.

2. Blotter: Report of explosion Monday evening appeared to be a firecracker (gillettenewsrecord.com) — Gillette police and Campbell County deputies handled a busy start to the week, from a reported explosion that turned out to be a firecracker to fights, harassment calls, and a runaway teen. Local officers also responded to domestic violence and intoxication reports, minor crashes around town, and an identity theft case involving a bogus $900 phone bill. All investigations are either resolved with tickets or still ongoing.

Jury Finds Gillette Woman Not Guilty In Plot To Have Brother Stabbed (cowboystatedaily.com) — A Gillette woman was acquitted in Washington state of charges that she helped plan the 2025 stabbing of her brother, who survived the attack.
