• Union Pacific 5511 Steam Locomotive Passes Crucial Hydrostatic Test (news-usa.today) — A historic Union Pacific steam locomotive that once worked and later sat in storage in Green River has passed a crucial hydrostatic boiler test, moving its restoration closer to live steam operation. The 1923 engine, long retired and later donated for preservation, is undergoing extensive safety and structural upgrades so it can run again under modern federal standards.
