Suicide PSA By High School Students To Play In Local Theaters

Two student-produced public service announcements about suicide awareness and prevention will be shown at local movie theaters. The students created the PSAs for a contest aimed at preventing teen suicide.

JC Penney Closing Maryland Store, 29 Other Locations

JC Penney officials said Thursday that the iconic retailer with 860 stores nationwide will close 18 stores this year — plus nine home and furniture stores this fall — in addition to three store closures announced last month. One of the 30 stores on the chopping block is in Maryland.

Sobriety Checkpoint Scheduled On March 2

In an effort to curb impaired driving and underage drinking, law enforcement officials will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint Saturday night.
