Port Rowing Does What They Do Best: Row -- For Autism
The Row for Autism Regatta helped raise funds to support autism last weekend.
Port Rowing took part in Autism Awareness Month by raising funds to support autism during the fourth annual Row for Autism Regatta last weekend.
All proceeds will go to:
- The autism advocacy organization Autism Speaks
- Scholarships for adaptive rowers
- The purchase of specialized Adaptive Rowing Equipment, which allows a teenager to be paired with a typical peer mentor
The event was held at North Hempstead Beach Park on Saturday, April 18.

The Row for Autism Regatta was hosted by the Town of North Hempstead, in partnership with Port Rowing.
Town Clerk Wayne Wink, Receiver of Taxes Charles Berman, Councilman Dina De Giorgio, Councilman Peter Zuckerman and Councilwoman Lee Seeman attended the day’s festivities.
